Who’s Next To Be Inducted Into Poker Hall Of Fame?

Poker Hall of Fame preserves the names of famous poker figures, who greatly contributed to the development of the game. The hall of fame exists since 1749 and is being replenished with new names every year. Nowadays, there are 56 names in total. In 2018, ten new names were nominated to get into the renowned poker player list. Here they are:

  • John Hennigan. His net worth of earnings is as much as 8.1 million dollars. He has got 5 poker player blacelets earned in Limit, Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo, H.O.R.S.E., 2-7 Lowball, and in the 2014 Poker Players Championship.
  • David Oppenheim. Known for his high stake games and riskiness. In 2010 WSOP Poker Players Championship, he was the one to win the third place with $603,348, while his total earnings are estimated at $1,875,228. Let’s not forget that Oppenheim is only 45, meaning he’s got a lot of time to improve his position even more.
  • Chris Bjorin. A Sweden born 70 year old poker player is second in Swedish all-time money list, superseded by 2014 WSOP Main Event winner Martin Jacobson. Has been a participant of five events in 2018’s WSOP (World Series of Poker).
  • David Chiu. David Chiu started his poker career back in 1996 and keeps holding strong positions still. Among the most prominent winnings are 5 WSOP bracelet wins and a $3.3 million win in 2008 WPT World Championship. His earnings are estimated at around $8 million.
  • Mori Eskandani. Eskandani is more known for his poker popularization rather than poker games. He has a lot to do with TV versions of poker games such as Poker After Dark, High Stakes Poker, National Heads-Up Poker Championship, Face the Ace, and is the producer for the WSOP telecasts for ESPN and PokerGO.
  • Bruno Fitoussi. A French born poker enthusiast, who contributed to popularization of poker on TV.
  • Mike Matusow. Mike Matusow, also known as “the mouth” has 4 bracelets and around $9.4 million in tournament earnings to his name.
  • Chris Moneymaker. Another Hall of Fame nominee, who got a broad TV publicity.  Net earnings from poker games – $3.7 million,
  • Matt Savage. A prominent poker player, and a member of Tournament Directors Association (TDA). Has been responsible for standardizing poker rules, runs several casinos and a regular poker event attendant.
  • Huck Seed. Huckleberry Seed is a highly versatile player with $7.6 million in earnings and 4 bracelets on hands.  

Who’s Next To Be Inducted Into Poker Hall Of Fame?

With the growing popularity of online gambling, many enthusiasts choose to play poker online. It is both time and money saving. There is no need to get on a plane and go to Macau or Las Vegas for decent gambling. Online poker players created an Internet version of Hall of Fame with 30 names included there already. Online gamblers can log in to the site and select three names, which they think have to be nominated. Even though the site itself does not seem like a reliable source of information, it looks like the beginning of online poker era.  

Only the most prominent players have a chance to be inducted into Poker Hall of Fame. Also, they have to meet the requirements put forward by Hall of Fame inventors. First, in order to become a nominee, an individual has to be minimum forty years old. Secondly, he or she had played for a long time, at high stakes, and against acknowledged competition. Finally, even if an individual is a non-player, he or she can still be nominated for contribution to the success and development of poker game.
